Muse Auditions
To join the Muse Guild of Buya, one must first
audition with a creative presentation of their own doing. A work
of art, a story, a dramatic scene, a recitation, a song...
anything one can achieve, one can perform! (However, please limit
your short presentation to no longer than five minutes.)
Auditions may be accompanied by a short
interview with the guide panel. One does not need to prepare for
such an interview, but a little research on ways of the Muse
(artifacts, mannerisms, rules, etc.) may come in handy!
| Auditions for the coming month (November): |
| Date: |
Sunday, November 16th |
| Location: |
Garden of the Muses
(Islets, 70/10) |
| Time: |
1-3 pm, PST / 4-6pm, EST |
Auditions to join the Muses are
held monthly. Those who fail to pass their first auditions are
still welcome to audition again the next month. Please note that
not everyone may be accepted as an apprentice right off the bat;
some may require further examination. ;) Also, remember, the
audition is just the first of many trials an Apprentice must
endure before becoming a Muse.
TIPS FOR AUDITIONERS:
- We expect an audition in-character to the
Nexus theme. In other words, no cars and trucks and hints of
modern-day life. If you're out of character, we'll gong ya
off-stage. ;p
- Behave like a Muse, and not like
an idiot. Muses may strive to entertain, but we take our
entertainment and culture very seriously.
- We love poetry. We get to read 50-60 poems
weekly. So please, please, PLEASE, don't audition with a
poem unless you absolutely HAVE to! After awhile, poem after poem
becomes one consistent blur for us. ^_-
- If you want to be a Muse (or a
member of any subpath, for that matter!), chuck the
"chatroom talk." We can speak like civilized people,
and no Muse will be impressed if you show us how clever "u r
2 be typing like dis." Spelling, grammar, and polite decorum
are your best friends when dealing with the Muses.
- If you want to do something
creative, by all means, please do! While we would prefer you show
us some of your original work (as this makes it easier for us to
see your talents), a very creative interpretation of someone
else's works (with proper credit given to the original authors,
of course) may dazzle us just as uniquely. ^_-
- I strongly suggest that those
seeking to be Muses purchase "Graced by the Muse" at
the local library, and read a bit of our archives. Also, a good
read of the "Drifting Winds" (history) board may help
as well--it never hurts to brush up on your history!
Good luck, and happy auditioning!
